1. Selecting units and refrigerants. In version 1.07 and higher, a new pop-up screen makes it easier to select and change temperature units and refrigerant type. While you can still set the temperature unit and refrigerant type in the SET-UP menu, you can now activate them from any of the digital manifold or vacuum gauge display screens by pressing the UP/LEFT key. Once the pop-up screen appears, settings can be changed as follows:
- Select the field to change by using the UP/LEFT or DOWN/RIGHT keys, followed by the ENTER key.
- Once selected, use the UP/LEFT or DOWN/RIGHT keys to change the value, followed by the ENTER key.
- When all four settings are correct, press the MENU key to close the pop-up screen.
2. Selecting favorite refrigerants. You know how you can program your favorite TV channels into your cable box/remote? Well, NOW you can do the same thing with your RSA! In version 1.06 and higher, you can customize your refrigerant list so that ONLY the refrigerants you are likely to use will be visible to you. Select (and change!) your refrigerant favorites as follows:
- Go to the SET-UP menu and select "Refrigerant favorites."
- Scroll through the refrigerant list with the UP/LEFT or DOWN/RIGHT keys. To change or select a favorite, first identify your selected refrigerant with the yellow line indicator and press the ENTER key. This will either make the refrigerant a favorite by turning it red or blue, or remove the refrigerant as a favorite by turning it gray.
- Favorite refrigerants will have a blue or red background. Refrigerants that are not favorites will have a gray background.
- The CLEAR key will clear all favorites except the active refrigerant shown at the top of the screen.
- The HOLD key will set all refrigerants as favorites.
- The MENU key will close the "Refrigerant favorites" screen and save your changes.
3. Updating software via USB port. If you have version 1.06 or higher, you can now update and install your software by connecting the RSA to your computer with a USB cable and running the update program (instead of sending to YELLOW JACKET to update). How handy is that? (If you have version 1.04 or 1.05, you'll need to contact Customer Service for update instructions.)
4. More temperature options. With version 1.08 and higher, low temperature users will be happy to know that values below -100°F are now displayed.
5. Improved HOLD mode. With version 1.08 and higher, the display now changes color to indicate when you are in HOLD mode. You'll also be able to see the history of all displayed values as you scroll across the chart.
